The last week

Sorry I haven't posted for a while; I've been super busy. Over the course of the week, I made the soccer team, played (and lost) two soccer games (for the team), and played in a tournament called Goal-a-thon. My team lost all three games. I got hit in the face with with a soccerball so hard that I went airborne and fell on my back. I wish I was bigger. These are the only photos I can post for now.

Why I'm here

For those of you who are curious  about why I'm here, I really don't know why I'm here. I just thought it would be fun.

this week

A few days ago, I  had a minor setback. One of my friends accidentally locked my lock upside down, and I couldn't get the key in. We had to cut the lock.
Today and yesterday were soccer tryouts. Basically, we just played soccer. I  don't know if I made the team yet, but I will soon.

Rock Climbing

Today I tried out the climbing wall. It was awesome! I was also invited to be on the Woodstock competitive climbing team! I need to start preparing.

School

I wish my teachers were as good as Whitefield's. I miss my family.

Dangers

Today was an interesting day. I joined the cross country team. I had to take a test called the "beep test". There would be a beep, and then I had to run a certain distance before the next beep. It gets progressively faster and harder. I got to level 8-1, which is about average for a cross country runner. Then, at night, I was going to take a shower, and the light above the shower wouldn't turn on. There was a plug hanging next to an outlet, so I plugged it in. I didn't realize that the plug was missing a back, and the backs of the prongs were exposed. My finger was touching one of the prongs when I plugged it, so I got shocked. Bad. I later found out that in India, the voltages are twice as high as in the US. 220 volts of electricity went into me, all the way down to my heel. Not fun.

Monsoon

Today we had some very, very hard rain. It started during last period, and continued for about 30 minutes. All I had was my rain jacket, which was fortunately big enough for me and my backpack. I only got wet from the waist down. My tennis shoes are soaked. It was actually pretty cool to see the waterfalls caused by the rain. They were huge! Unfortunately, that is what got me wet, not the rain. The water was about 1/2 inch deep on the path.

First Day of School

Yesterday was my first day of school. At Woodstock, we have a rotating schedule very similar to Whitefield's. Over the course of the year, I will take 9 courses: science, math, health, PE, Art, Computer, Religion, Hindi, Social Studies, and English. I won't go into how they fit all those in; it's very complicated. Science and Social Studies are good, and Math, Health, Hindi, and English are bad. I haven't taken the other classes yet.
It's a very long walk from the dorm to school; about 10 minutes. Overall, dorm life is waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than school.
Yesterday, I played my first game of cricket. It was very fun. Now I know how to bat and ball (pitch) and field. We also play a lot of soccer. I love it!
